Object history and violation description

Barrow No. 506 (index according to the regional electronic database) was a part of the barrow group No. 503–506, located on the eastern edge of the watershed ridge formed by the Komyshuvakha river (right tributary of the Mokra Volnovakha river) from the north, the upper reaches of the left tributary of the Dubivka river (right tributary of the Kalmius river), the Odemon-Chelhak gully, as well as the right tributary of the Kalmius river, the Khan-Tarama gully, from the south (Figure 1). The necropolis is located on two neighboring agricultural fields separated by a windbreak, 0.58 km north of Novolaspa village of Boikivske community, Kalmius district, Donetsk region (Figure 2; 2a; 3). Previously, the barrows were plowed, and a little later the area around barrows No. 504–506 was removed from the cycle of agricultural work; a rectangular protection zone with an area of 115 x 95 meters was created around them (Figure 3a).

The Google Maps image of February 23, 2015 (Figure 4, 4a) shows the first mortar and artillery shelling of the necropolis area, which created a chain of eight explosion craters in the protection zone of barrow no. 506 northwest of the mound at distances of 30–59 meters, one crater 86 meters to the north-east-east and 60 meters to the southeast.

The Google Maps image dated August 6, 2015 (Figure 5) and a more contrasting Google Maps image of August 27, 2015 (Figure 6) recorded the second mortar and artillery shelling of the necropolis area, which resulted in three new shell craters in different sectors of the protection zone of barrow No. 506, 66 and 88 meters to the north-northeast and 18 meters to west.

The barrow remained in this state at least until the fall of 2020 (Figure 7).
